StrongBó have designed a plug and play, semi enclosed platform that utilises the internet of things to collect thousands of animal weight readings per day. This amount of data is capable of generating insights that have never been possible until now. Animals enter the measurment system voluntarily and so our device is 100% autonomous and collects weight readings continuously without any manual labour input. Funding from DIVA will allow StrongBó to provide, install and validate the performance of 2 devices with a key target customer. Each device will be installed in an animal pen. Each device will collect and analyse data from 2 groups of beef cattle. The data will be analysed to provide insights to improve farmer efficiencies, reduce farmer costs, increase animal welfare and reduce environmental impacts.
